WooS Not Quite A Phillip

Only about a month ago we contacted a racetrack looking to purchase a horse who's not yet been raced.  At Woodbury we're not big fans of a lot of the racing industry, and our first issue with it is the too-young ages that they start these horses at.  After working out all the details, we were expecting to receive a young male, and thought Phillip would be a cute new name.  However, an unpredicted turn of events landed us with Ginger instead, otherwise endearingly known as "Not Quite A Phillip".  Another thing we had expected was, of course, quite a handful, but instead, we got two handfuls of horse!  Ginger is worse tempered than Hamilton was when he arrived a few years back.  We can only sympathize and wonder why while we attempt to sort through her issues.  She won't be ready to hit any show rings for a long time, though we are in no rush to compete -- for the next few years, I see us doing strictly ground work.  We want to give her bones the chance that they weren't given at the racetrack to develop fully.  She is truly a sweet and soulful horse -- she really is gentle and loving, she just simply doesn't want to be cooped up or held back, and I don't think she'll ever be afraid to show it.  We already love her so much and are extremely excited to watch her progression. Despite her current troubles, she has massive promise!
