WooS Hamilton

Hamilton came to the farm during wintertime about four years ago, and he has come an impeccable way since then.  Aubrey, unusually focused on this specific project, spent months trying every little fix she could think of to improve his performance.  He was unpredictable more than anything -- at times, excellent, at others, too distracted to be the slightest bit trustworthy... but his personality was always so flamboyant, that the last thing she wanted to do was silence it in any way.  One of the big keys to Hamilton's bloom was changing his equipment.  Aubrey has said that understanding this horse has helped her so much to understand all the others that she works with.  He came to the farm with recommendations of flashes and strong bits, but when no consistent improvements were made, Aubrey turned to replacing his heavier bridle with a simple Micklem and snaffle combo, and he only gradually excelled from there. Now, rather than being schooled himself, Hamilton is the one schooling anyone who gets on his back.

He's a fantastic horse, eager to run, but just as eager to relax and relish in his surroundings.  The way he pays attention to details is amazing.  He loves playing with zippers and flinging around his stall buckets all morning, and he makes friends (or at least tries to) with every horse we've turned him out with.  He will always be a permanent resident of Woodbury, as well as a permanent resident of our hearts.
